In partnership with J.P. Mascaro & Sons and the American Red Cross, the Cradle of Liberty Council coordinated and conducted 12 blood drives throughout its territory during the last three weekends of August 2014.
I developed the operational plan for the initiative, recruited a board member to serve as the chair and mobilized volunteers from throughout the council to get the word out. Our efforts accounted for one-quarter of the total blood donations for the Francesco A. Mascaro Memorial Blood Drive. In additional to doing a good turn, the initiative helped build the foundation of a relationship with J.P. Mascaro & Sons that led to an annual major gift to the council.
