Career Exploring offers a conversation starter with local businesses and organizations, as well as educational institutions, regarding opportunities to partner to provide youth with much needed workforce development programs in our communities.
The Workforce Development Reception was created to help support this effort. Additionally, I had three other objectives in mind when conceptualizing this event: (1), raise money for Exploring and Scouting programs, (2), recognize our current participating organizations, and, (3), present a deserving individual with the Spurgeon Award, the highest recognition for significant service to the Exploring program.
The format for this after-work reception can be adapted to cultivate other affinity groups, such as alumni, major givers, James E. West fellows, and Heritage Society members.
